  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves (optional)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/4 cups milk
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 3 tablespoons canola oil
  • butter or oil, for griddle
