  • 2 lb. red or purple plums or both, halved, pitted and cut into 1/2-inch slices (about 10 plums)
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/4 c. butter, melted
  • grated peel and juice of 1 orange (no white attached)
  • 1 tsp. ground ginger or 2 Tbsp. fresh ginger*
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1/8 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1 1/2 c. quick oats
  • 3/4 c. brown sugar
  • 1/2 c. Grape-Nuts cereal
  • 1/2 c. chopped pecans
  • 1/2 c. chopped walnuts
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp. almond extract
  • 1/2 c. butter, melted
