- 4 oz. butter
- 1 c. sugar
- 2 Tbsp. golden syrup
- 1 egg
- 2 c. self-rising flour
- 3 tsp. ground ginger
Directions

1Melt butter in a pan and remove from heat; add sugar, syrup and beaten egg.

2Mix until well combined.

3Sift flour and ginger into bowl and pour in butter mixture.

4Mix until combined.

5Allow to cool a little.

6Roll teaspoons of mixture into balls.

7Place well apart on lightly greased cookie sheets.

8Bake in moderate oven for 12 to 15 minutes.

9Makes about 45.
