- 1 c. molasses
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 3 1/4 c. flour
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 Tbsp. ginger
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
Directions

1Heat to boiling point the molasses.

2Pour it over shortening. Sift together and stir this into the flour, baking soda, ginger and salt.

3Shape 1/4 the mixture at a time, keeping the rest of the dough in the refrigerator until you are ready to cut it out.

4Roll as thin as possible; cut with small, round cutter.

5Bake at 350° until crisp and dry (8 to 10 minutes).

6Makes 100 or more.
