  • 3/4 c. butter-flavored Crisco
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/4 c. molasses
  • 1 egg
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. cloves
  • 1 tsp. ginger

    Cream shortening and sugar.

    Add molasses and egg.

    Beat well. Add sifted dry ingredients.

    Roll in small balls and roll in extra sugar.

    Place 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheet (350° oven for about 5 minutes each shelf).
