  • 1 1/2 c. shortening
  • 2 c. brown sugar
  • 1/2 c. molasses
  • 2 eggs
  • 4 1/2 c. flour
  • 4 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 Tbsp. ginger
  • 2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. cloves

Directions

    Cream shortening, brown sugar, molasses and eggs well.

    Add remaining ingredients to creamed mixture.

    Form dough into balls. Roll dough balls in white sugar.

    Bake at 325° for 17 minutes. Yields 50 cookies.
