  • 2 c. flour
  • 2 tsp. soda
  • 3/4 Tbsp. ginger
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 3/4 c. shortening
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 c. molasses (Brer Rabbit green label)

Directions

    Cream sugar, shortening and eggs until light. Add dry ingredients (flour, ginger, soda, cinnamon and salt), then blend in molasses; mix well. Form dough in small balls, rolling them in your hands. Place on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350° until top rounds or cracks. Makes 4 dozen.
