- 3/4 c. shortening
- 1 c. sugar
- 1/4 c. light molasses
- 1 beaten egg
- 2 c. flour
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 2 tsp. soda
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. cloves
- 1 tsp. ginger
Directions

1Cream shortening and sugar; add molasses and egg.

2Beat well. Add sifted dry ingredients; mix well.

3Roll in small balls; dip into sugar.

4Place 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheet.

5Bake in 375° oven for 15 minutes.

6Makes 4 dozen.
