- 12 cup vegetable shortening
- 14 cup unsalted butter
- 1 large egg
- 14 cup mild molasses

2Mix in crystalized ginger.

3beat brown sugar, shortening, and butter in large bowl until fluffy.

4add egg and molasses and beat until blended.

5add flour mixture until just blended then cover and cool for one hour.

6heat oven to 350 and roll in 1 1/4 inch balls and roll in sugar.

7Bake until cracked for 12 minutes.
