- 34 cup shortening
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 14 cup molasses
- 2 cups flour
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 2 teaspoons ground ginger
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 12 teaspoon salt
- additional sugar
Directions

1Cream shortning and sugar.

2Beat in egg and molasses.

3Mix flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, and salt.

4Gradually add to creamed mixture.

5Roll teaspoons of dough into balls.

6Dip one side of each ball in sugar.

7Place, sugar side up, on greased baking sheet.

8Bake at 350* for 12-15 minutes, or until lightly browned.

9Cookies will be crinkly.
