- 1 2/3 c. shortening
- 2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. molasses (Brer Rabbit light)
- 2 eggs
- 4 c. flour
- 2 tsp. soda
- 2 Tbsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. cloves
- 1 tsp. ginger
- pinch of salt
Directions

1Mix dry ingredients together; cream shortening, sugar and molasses.

2Add eggs one at a time.

3Stir in dry ingredients.

4Make small balls; roll in white sugar.

5Place on ungreased cookie sheet.

6Bake at 350° for 12 to 13 minutes.

7They will flatten and crack like boughten gingersnaps.

8Let rest on cookie sheet a few minutes after removing from oven.

9Place on rack or pan to cool.
