- 2/3 c. shortening
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 c. molasses
- 1 Tbsp. vinegar
- 2 Tbsp. cold water
- 4 1/2 c. flour
- 1 Tbsp. soda
- 1 Tbsp. ginger
Directions

1Cream shortening with sugar.

2Add beaten egg, then molasses, vinegar and cold water.

3Sift flour, soda and ginger and add to first mixture.

4Stir in as much of the flour as you can and knead in remainder.

5Roll out.

6Cut in desired shapes.

7Bake 10 to 12 minutes at 350°.
