  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 c. dark molasses
  • 2 tsp. soda
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. cloves
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. ginger

    Cream shortening and sugar.

    Add remaining ingredients.

    Form dough into balls and roll into white sugar.
