Ingredients
- 1 1/2 sticks butter
- 1/4 c. packed brown sugar
- 1/4 c. granulated sugar
- 2 tsp. ground ginger
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp. allspice
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 egg
- 3/4 c. molasses
- 3 1/4 c. sifted all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
Directions

1Cream together butter, sugars, spices and salt.

2Add egg and mix thoroughly.

3Add molasses and blend.

4Sift together twice flour, baking soda and baking powder.

5Add to molasses mixture and stir until blended.

6Chill well.

7Preheat oven to 375°.

8Using a floured rolling pin, roll dough to 1/4-inch thickness on floured pastry cloth or board.

9Use cookie cutter to press out desired shapes.

10Place on greased baking sheets and bake 8 to 10 minutes. Makes about 30.
