- 2 medium rutabagas (about 2 lb.)
- 1/4 c. butter or margarine
- 2 Tbsp. packed brown sugar
- 1 tsp. water
- 1 tsp. salt
Directions

1Wash rutabaga and pare thinly.

2Cut into 1/2-inch cubes.

3Heat butter in a 10-inch skillet until melted.

4Add rutabagas.

5Cook, uncovered, over medium heat, stirring frequently until light brown on all sides, about 10 minutes.

6Sprinkle with brown sugar, water and salt.

7Cover and simmer over low heat stirring occasionally until tender, about 20 minutes.
