  • 3/4 cup milk
  • butter or margarine
  • 1 tsp. lemon juice
  • 3-1/2 to 4 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 pkg. active dry yeast
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 3 eggs

  • 1 pkg. (8 oz.) PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp. lemon juice
  • 1 egg, separated
  • 1-3/4 cups sifted powdered sugar
  • 3 Tbsp. milk

Directions

    Rolls: HEAT milk and 1/2 cup butter on low heat until warm.

    Stir in juice.

    Mix 2 cups flour, granulated sugar, yeast and salt in large bowl.

    Add milk mixture; beat 2 minutes with electric mixer on medium speed.

    Add eggs; beat 2 minutes.

    Stir in enough remaining flour to form soft dough.

    Knead dough on lightly floured surface 5 minutes or until smooth and elastic.

    Place in greased bowl; brush with melted butter.

    Cover; let rise in warm place about 1-1/2 hours or until doubled.

    Punch down dough.

    Roll dough to 18x12-inch rectangle; sprinkle with nuts.

    Roll up from long end; seal long end.

    Cut into eighteen 3/4-inch slices.

    Place 1-inch apart on greased cookie sheets; flatten to 4-inch circles.

    Cover; let rise 45 minutes or until doubled.

    Filling: Beat cream cheese, sugar and juice with electric mixer on medium speed until well blended.

    Blend in egg yolk.

    Make depression in center of each roll; fill with rounded tablespoonful of the cream cheese mixture.

    Brush dough with beaten egg white.

    Bake at 350F for 15 minutes.

    Glaze: Mix powdered sugar and milk until smooth.
