Glorified Deviled Eggs

  • 3 Tbsp. oleo
  • 3 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 can tomatoes, cut in small pieces
  • 1/2 c. chopped onions
  • 6 or more deviled eggs
  • 1/2 c. buttered cracker crumbs (Waverly)
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • dash of salt and pepper

Directions

    Melt butter.

    Blend in flour. Add tomatoes, onions and seasonings.

    Cook and stir until thick. Spoon a little bit of the tomato mixture in bottom of a baking dish.

    Put eggs on top of this. Cover with remaining tomato mixture.

    Sprinkle cracker crumbs over the top and bake at 425° until crumbs begin to brown.
