- 90 g butter
- 13 cup brown sugar
- 13 cup golden syrup
- 1 13 cups plain flour
- 34 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon ground ginger
- 14 teaspoon ground cloves
Directions

1combine butter, sugar and golden syrup in pan.

2stir over heat until butter is melted.

3remove from heat.

4stir in sifted dry ingredients.

5stand until mixture feels warm to the touch.

6roll 2 level teaspoons of mixture into balls.

7place on greased oven trays, about 3cm apart.

8flatten slightly.

9bake in moderate oven about 12 minutes or until browned.

10loosen biscuits.

11cool on trays.

12(can be made a week ahead, store in an airtight container, can freeze).
