  • 3 eggs
  • 2/3 c. white sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1/3 c. butter, melted
  • 1 c. light corn syrup
  • 1 c. pecan pieces
  • pie crust (9-inch), unbaked (deep dish)

Directions

    Mix eggs with sugar; mix well. Add salt, vanilla, cornstarch, melted butter and corn syrup.

    Mix well. Stir in pecan pieces or make a decorative top with halves.

    Pour into unbaked pie shell. Bake at 425° for 10 minutes. Reduce to 325° for 45 minutes.

    Bake until knife inserted halfway between center and edge comes out clean. Refrigerate.

    Freezes well.
