Ingredients

  • 1.1 kg chuck steak cubed
  • 2 tbsp of sweet paprika
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne
  • 6 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 chopped onions
  • 5 garlic cloves chopped
  • 2 tbsp floor
  • 3 bay leaves
  • 1 can stewed tomatoes
  • 2 red peppers
  • 300 ml chicken/beef stock
  • salt & pepper

Directions

    Over high heat, brown beef in hot oil, set aside.

    Reduce heat and brown the onions, add garlic when they are done, return beef to pot, add flour and spices. Stir to absorb juices.

    Add tomatoes, bay leaves and stock. Cover and place in 300 degree oven for 2 hours.

    Cube the red peppers and add to pot after 2 hours. Cook for 30 minutes longer.

    Finish by adding a dollop of sour cream to each dish. serve with hearty bread or potatoes.
