- 2 lb. beef (round or chuck), cut in 4 x 4-inch cubes
- 2 large onions, sliced
- 1 regular can tomatoes (14 to 15 oz.)
- 2 regular cans whole string beans
- 6 large potatoes, cut in half lengthwise
- 1 small can tomato sauce
- 1/4 c. cooking oil
- flour, salt and pepper
Directions

1Heat oil in large cast-iron skillet.

2Flour meat.

3Brown meat and onions together.

4Lower fire and add tomatoes, salt, pepper and 3/4 can of water.

5Cover and simmer 1 1/2 hours or until tender.

6Add tomato sauce, potatoes, salt and pepper and more water if needed.

7Cover and cook half hour.

8Drain string beans and add.

9Continue simmering, covered, another 15 minutes.
