- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1 c. granulated sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1 c. milk
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 24 graham crackers, crumbled
- 1 c. chopped nuts
- 1/2 tsp. salt
Directions

1Cream shortening and sugar together.

2Beat yolks of eggs until light and add.

3Add milk.

4Roll the crackers fine.

5Mix baking powder with the cracker crumbs.

6Add to other mixture together with salt and chopped nuts.

7Add beaten egg whites.

8Bake in 2 layers in moderately hot oven (375°) until done.

9When cool, spread whipped cream between layers and on top of cake.
