Grandma Rose's Meatballs Recipe

Ingredients

  • 3 lbs. grnd beef or possibly (1 beef, 1 pork, and 1 veal)
  • 1 1/2 c. bread crumbs
  • 1/2 c. Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 6 Large eggs
  • 6 cloves, finely minced garlic
  • 2 1/2 teaspoon basil leaves
  • 3/4 teaspoon finely minced parsley
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon salt (to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tbsp. oil to be added last to prevent sticking

Directions

    In large bowl, combine grnd meat, bread crumbs, cheese, garlic, salt, pepper, basil, parsley, and Large eggs.

    Mix and blend thoroughly.

    Add in oil and mix again.

    Roll meatballs.

    To keep them from sticking to your hands, keep hands moist with water.

    In frying pan, heat 1/2 c. oil.

    When oil is very warm, brown meatballs quickly.

    Make sure they are brown sufficient, but be careful not to burn them.

    Set them aside till sauce is ready.
