  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 3 tbsp veg. Crisco
  • 1 tsp. Salt
  • 1 egg
  • 2 pkg. Granular yeast
  • 4 cups all purpose or bread flour
  • 1 1/2 cup whole milk

Directions

    Stir yeast into warm milk. Let set until yeast is bubbly. Add rest of ingredients. Mix with mixer. Let rise until double.. 30 min. Flatten into rectangle. Rub with butter. Fold and cut into strips. Tie into knots. Add flour as needed. Let rise at least 15 min. Bake at 400 degrees on baking sheet lined with parchment paper 12-15 min.
