Ingredients

  • 8 c. rolled oats (not instant)
  • 1 1/2 c. brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 c. untoasted wheat germ
  • 1 1/2 c. chopped nuts (walnuts or salted cashews)
  • 3/4 c. shredded coconut
  • 1 1/2 c. unprocessed oat bran
  • 1/2 c. untoasted sesame seed
  • 1/2 c. unsalted sunflower seeds
  • 1/2 c. vegetable or safflower oil
  • 3/4 c. honey
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 c. raisins

Directions

    Preheat oven to 325°.

    Stir together the oats, sugar, wheat germ, nuts, coconut bran and seeds.

    In a small pan, heat the oil, honey and vanilla until bubbling.

    Thoroughly mix liquids with dry ingredients.

    Bake for 20 to 30 minutes, stirring every 5 minutes. Stir until cool.

    Add raisins when cool.

    Makes about 15 cups.
