  • 4 to 6 thinly sliced green tomatoes
  • 1 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1 c. grated cracker crumbs
  • butter (to dot each layer)
  • salt and pepper to taste

Directions

    Butter casserole dish.

    Layer green tomato slices, cheese and crumbs.

    Dot with butter.

    Continue layers, ending with buttered crumbs.

    Bake at 325° for 50 minutes or until tomatoes are tender. Tomatoes may be parboiled first if baking time is to be short.
