- 1 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
- 1 c. grated cracker crumbs
- butter (to dot each layer)
- salt and pepper to taste

1Butter casserole dish.

2Layer green tomato slices, cheese and crumbs.

3Dot with butter.

4Continue layers, ending with buttered crumbs.

5Bake at 325° for 50 minutes or until tomatoes are tender. Tomatoes may be parboiled first if baking time is to be short.
