- 1 (1 1/2 to 2 lb.) flank steak
- 1 (10 1/2 oz.) can consomme
- 1 c. red wine
- 2/3 c. soy sauce
- 1/2 c. sliced green onions
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 2 Tbsp. lime juice
- 2 Tbsp. brown sugar
Directions

1Trim excess fat from steak.

2Score on both sides in 1 1/2-inch squares. Place in large shallow dish.

3Combine remaining ingredients.

4Stir well.

5Pour over steak and marinate 8 hours, turning occasionally.

6Drain steak, reserving marinade.

7Grill over medium coals 7 to 9 minutes on each side, basting twice with marinade.

8To serve, slice across grain into thin slices.

9Makes approximately 6 servings.
