Ingredients

  • 6 slices bacon, cut in 1/2-inch pieces
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1 lb. ground round
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 large green peppers, chopped
  • 1 (16 oz.) can stewed tomatoes, mashed
  • 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 1 (8 oz.) can tomato paste
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1 tsp. Italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 Tbsp. Parmesan cheese
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 (16 oz.) box Skroodles noodles (corkscrew macaroni)

Directions

    In large Dutch oven, fry bacon until crisp.

    Remove from pot and set aside.

    Saute onions in bacon grease.

    Add ground round; sprinkle with 1 teaspoon salt and fry until browned.

    Stir and mash while it is frying until it becomes crumbly.

    Return bacon to pot and add the next 10 ingredients (green peppers, tomatoes, tomato sauce, tomato paste, salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, Worcestershire sauce, Parmesan cheese and sugar).

    Mix together and bring to a boil.

    Cover and simmer 30 to 40 minutes.

    Stir occasionally.

    Cook noodles according to box.

    Drain and add to sauce.

    Serve with Parmesan cheese.
