- 1 lb. bacon
- 3/4 c. chopped bell pepper
- 2 c. chopped green onions
- 1 c. chopped celery
- 2 c. chicken or venison, cooked and chopped
- 2 c. smoked sausage, sliced
- 1 qt. tomatoes
- salt and pepper to taste
- garlic to taste
- 2 c. okra, sliced
- 2 lb. shrimp
- 1 stick margarine
- 1/2 c. flour
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
Directions

1Brown bacon; set aside.

2Add flour to drippings and brown to make roux.

3Add 1 quart water or broth to roux.

4Saute onions, pepper and celery in margarine; add to roux mixture.

5Add sausage and tomatoes. Add okra and cook.

6Add shrimp and chicken last, cook until done.

7Add gumbo file to taste.

8Makes a large pot.
