- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. butter, softened
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 c. cake flour
- 1/2 c. milk
- 1/4 c. shortening
- 3 eggs
- 1/4 tsp. baking powder
Directions

1Cream the sugar, butter and shortening until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in vanilla. Combine cake flour and baking powder. Add to creamed mixture, mixing well. Add milk and beat 5 minutes.

2Pour batter into a greased and floured 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan.

3Bake at 325° for 1 hour or until done.

4Yields 1 loaf.
