  • 1 cup Land O Lakes Butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 Land O Lakes Egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Sugar
  • 30 wooden craft or lollipop sticks
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup Land O Lakes Butter, softened
  • 3 to 4 tablespoons Land O Lakes Half & Half or Fat Free Half & Half
  • Food color, if desired
  • Decorator candies or sugars, if desired

Directions

    Heat oven to 375F.

    Combine 1 cup butter, brown sugar and 1/2 cup sugar in bowl.

    Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until creamy.

    Add egg and vanilla; continue beating until well mixed.

    Add flour, baking soda, cream of tartar and cinnamon; beat at low speed until dough forms a ball.

    Shape dough into 1 1/4-inch balls.

    Place 3 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheets.

    Flatten each to about 2 inches wide with bottom of glass dipped in sugar.

    Insert craft stick to center of each cookie.

    Bake 7-9 minutes or until edges are lightly browned.

    Let stand 1 minute on cookie sheet; remove to cooling rack.

    Cool completely.

    Combine powdered sugar and 1/4 cup butter in bowl.

    Beat at medium speed, gradually adding enough half & half for desired spreading consistency.

    Tint with food color, if desired.

    Frost cookies; top with decorator candies or sprinkle with decorator sugars, if desired.
