• 2 c. beef broth (3 beef cubes and 3 c. water)
• 2 c. chicken broth (3 chicken cubes and 3 c. water)
• 1 qt. tomato juice
• 1/2 tsp. salt
• 1/2 tsp. pepper
• 1/4 c. chopped parsley
• 1 bay leaf
• 1/2 tsp. thyme
• 1 lb. browned ground beef
• 2 medium chopped onions
• 2 carrots, chopped
• 2 potatoes, chopped
• 1/4 c. barley
