Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. ground chuck
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 2 Tbsp. melted margarine
  • 1 c. uncooked rice
  • 3 large tomatoes or 1 lb. can tomatoes
  • 1 1/2 c. water
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar

Directions

    Brown beef in butter and stir in rice.

    Add chopped onion to tomatoes and cook while beef is browning, also salt and sugar. Cover, after putting all together, and simmer for 45 minutes or until rice is tender.

    Add more water.
