- 2 lb. ground chuck beef
- 2 eggs
- 2 slices bread
- 1/2 tsp. black pepper
- 3 tsp. salt
- 2 Tbsp. ketchup
- 12 slices bacon
- 1/2 c. vegetable shortening
Directions

1Mix meat and eggs.

2Soak bread in water and squeeze out moisture.

3Add to meat mixture along with salt, pepper and ketchup.

4Mix lightly but thoroughly.

5Form into 12 sausage-shaped patties.

6Wrap a slice of bacon around each, securing with toothpicks.

7Heat shortening in a heavy skillet on top of range or in electric skillet at 375°.

8Fry in hot fat, about 8 minutes or until meat is cooked through.
