- 1 lb. ground beef (do not fry)
- 1/4 c. chopped onion
- 1/8 tsp. oregano
- 2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
- 1 c. water
- 1/2 c. soft bread crumbs
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 1 c. precooked rice
- 1 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
Directions

1Combine beef, bread crumbs, onion, 1 teaspoon salt, oregano, pepper and 1/2 cup tomato sauce; mix well.

2Pat mixture firmly over bottom and sides of a 9-inch pie plate; pinch flutings around edge and set aside.

3Combine rice, water, 1/4 cup cheese, remaining tomato sauce and 1/4 teaspoon salt.

4Pour into meat shell.

5Bake at 350° for 30 to 35 minutes, then sprinkle on remaining cheese.

6Bake another 10 to 15 minutes.

7Cut into wedges.
