  • 1 (14 ounce) bottle catsup
  • 1 12 cups water
  • 12 cup vinegar, drained from sweet pickles or 14 cup plain vinegar
  • 1 12 medium onions, chopped fine
  • 14 cup prepared mustard
  • 14 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 3 lbs lean ground beef
  • 2 tablespoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper

Directions

    Combine catsup, water, vinegar, chopped onions, mustard and Worcestershire sauce in large saucepan.

    Place over low heat and cook slowly while preparing hamburgers.

    Mix ground beef, salt and pepper and shape into 12 hamburgers.

    Put hamburgers in the heated sauce and cook gently for 2 hours or more.

    Serve burgers on buns.
