- 2 c. thin sliced onions
- 2 Tbsp. margarine
- 2 Tbsp. flour
- 2 c. water
- 2 c. diced potatoes
- 1 c. sliced celery
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. basil
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1 lb. cod or haddock, broiled, skinned, boned and broken into pieces
- 2 c. milk
- 2 1/2 c. (10 oz.) shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
Directions

1Cook onions in margarine until tender; blend in flour.

2Stir in water, potatoes, celery and seasonings.

3Cover and simmer 20 minutes or until potatoes are tender.

4Add remaining ingredients; stir until cheese is melted.

5Makes 6 to 8 servings.
