Ingredients

  • 2 c. sugar
  • 2 c. water
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • food coloring
  • 2/3 c. light corn syrup
  • 2 tsp. flavoring extract or 1/2 tsp. flavoring oil

Directions

    Cook sugar, corn syrup and water to medium crack stage (295°). Stir in flavoring extract or oil, salt and coloring.

    Quickly pour onto a sheet of aluminum foil.

    When cooled, crack into pieces with knife handle.

    Store in tightly covered container. Yields 1 pound.
