- 1 c. Karo syrup
- 2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. water
- few drops flavoring oil (peppermint or cinnamon)
- 1/2 tsp. food coloring (optional)
Directions

1Cook and stir Karo syrup, sugar and water in saucepan over medium heat to dissolve sugar, then cook, without stirring, to 300° or until a small mixture separates into hard brittle threads in very cold water.

2Cool a minute, stirring flavoring and food coloring (if wanted).

3Pour into a cookie sheet or any pan.

4Let harden.

5After candy is hard, break with a knife.

6Candy is ready to eat.
