- 1 pkg. yeast
- 1/2 c. warm water
- 4 c. self-rising flour
- 3/4 c. shortening
- 1 1/2 c. buttermilk
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in warm water and set aside.

2Mix dry ingredients in a large bowl.

3Cut in shortening, then add buttermilk and yeast water.

4Mix well.

5Cover dough with towel and let set overnight.

6Next morning, pour dough out on floured board and knead lightly for a minute or two.

7Roll out and cut biscuits. Bake at 500° until done.
