- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tsp cornstarch
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/4 cup vinegar
- 1 can or 2 1/2 cups cooked beets
- 1 Tbsp butter or salad oil
- salt and pepper to taste
Directions

1Mix sugar and cornstarch.

2Add water and vinegar.

3Boil 5 minutes. Drain beets and add to sugar mixture.

4Cook slowly, stirring occasionally until beets are heated.

5Add butter.

6Salt and pepper, if desired.
