- 6 medium beets, cooked, peeled and sliced or 1 can beet, drained
- 12 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 12 teaspoon salt
- 12 cup vinegar
- 2 tablespoons butter
Directions

1Cook beets in water to cover until tender.

2Cool under running water until touchable.

3Peel and slice.

4Mix together sugar, cornstarch, salt, vinegar and butter.

5Bring to a boil over medium heat.

6Cook, stirring for 5 minutes.

7Add beets and simmer for 15 minutes.
