  • 2 lb. round steak, cut in small pieces
  • 2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
  • 2 1/2 c. water
  • 1 c. barbecue sauce
  • 8 carrots, halved
  • 3 medium onions, quartered
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 c. flour
  • 3 medium potatoes, cubed
  • 1 c. biscuit mix

Directions

    Brown meat in oil.

    Add 2 cups water, barbecue sauce, carrots, potatoes, onions and salt.

    Cover and simmer 1 hour.

    Gradually add remaining water to flour, stirring until well blended.

    Add flour mixture to hot meat and vegetables, stirring constantly until it boils and thickens.

    Prepare biscuit mix like dumplings. Drop by tablespoons onto hot stew mixture.

    Simmer 10 minutes. Cover; simmer another 15 minutes.

    Serves 6 to 8.
