  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. sifted flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 egg
  • 1 Tbsp. melted butter or margarine
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 c. nuts
  • 1/2 c. pitted dates, cut up

Directions

    Combine all ingredients.

    Mix thoroughly, but do not beat. Turn into greased 8 x 8-inch pan.

    Bake at 400° for 40 minutes or until apples are tender.

    Cut into 6 or 8 squares.

    Serve with whipped cream.
