- 1/3 cup butter or margarine, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2/3 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions

1Cream butter in a large mixing bowl; gradually add sugar, beating well. Add egg, beating mixture well.

2Combine dry ingredients; add to creamed mixture alternately with milk, beginning and ending with flour mixture. Stir in vanilla.

3Pour batter into a greased and floured 8-inch square pan. Bake at 350° for 25 to 30 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan 10 minutes; remove from pan, and let cool completely. Spread Quick 'n Easy Frosting on top and sides of cake.
