- 1 envelope yeast
- 1/2 c. warm water
- 1 c. milk
- 1 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. butter
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 4 eggs, beaten
- 4 1/2 to 7 c. flour
- 1 egg yolk, beaten
Directions

1Scald milk; add sugar, butter and salt.

2Cool to lukewarm. Dissolve yeast in water.

3Add beaten eggs to yeast.

4Then add milk mixture.

5Beat in 2 cups flour.

6Add enough remaining flour to make a smooth dough that doesn't stick to hands.

7Cover with damp dish towel and let rise 1 1/2 hours.

8Divide into 2 parts and shape into round loaves.

9Place on greased sheet and let rise another 1 to 1 1/2 hours or until doubled.

10Brush with beaten egg yolk and bake at 350° for 35 to 40 minutes.

11Brush with butter.
