Ingredients
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 2 tsp. grated onion
- 1/2 tsp. basil
- 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
- 2 jars plain spaghetti sauce
- 2 large containers cottage cheese or 1 1/2 lb. Ricotta
- 2 lb. Mozzarella, grated
- 2 lb. grated mild Cheddar cheese
- 2 small containers sour cream
- 1 1/2 lb. lasagne noodles
- 2 tsp. olive oil
- 1/2 tsp. white pepper (optional)
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350°.

2Brown ground beef, adding grated onion. Drain beef of fat.

3Add sauce along with basil, garlic and pepper. Simmer and stir.

4Add olive oil to a pot of boiling water.

5Add lasagna noodles and boil until limp; drain and separate strips. Using a 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan, spread thin layer of sauce, then layer cottage or Ricotta cheese, layer of Mozzarella, layer of Cheddar and layer of pasta; repeat.

6Crisscross lasagna noodles while layering.

7Bake for 30 minutes.

8Remove from oven and add a top layer of sour cream.

9Return to oven just long enough to warm the sour cream layer, approximately 5 minutes.

10Let stand; cut to serve.
