- 1 loaf unsliced French bread
- 1/2 c. softened butter or margarine
- 1/3 c. minced onion
- 3 Tbsp. mustard
- 1 Tbsp. poppy seed
- 2 tsp. lemon juice
- few drops Tabasco
- 12 slices Swiss cheese
- 4 to 6 slices cooked bacon
Directions

1Pull off thin layer from top crust of bread.

2Make 6 or more cuts at equal intervals from top to almost bottom of loaf.

3Heat oven to 350°.

4Combine butter, onion, mustard, poppy seed, lemon juice and Tabasco.

5Blend well.

6Save 3 tablespoons of mixture. Put 2 cheese slices in each slice.

7Spread mixture on each slice. Place on a greased cookie sheet.

8Spread remaining mixture on top and sides of loaf.

9Bake 30 minutes or until cheese is melted and loaf is lightly browned.

10Place bacon on top last 10 minutes before finished.
