- 1 c. brown sugar
- 1/2 c. margarine, chilled
- 1 c. white sugar
- 2 c. flour (plain)
- 1 egg
- 1 c. buttermilk or 1 Tbsp. vinegar and regular milk to make 1 c.
- 1 tsp. soda
- 4 Heath bars, chilled
Directions

1No need to use mixer.

2Mix sugars, brown and white, with flour. Cut in margarine with a pastry blender.

3Take out 1/2 cup and put in separate bowl.

4To buttermilk, add slightly beaten egg and soda. Stir this into the largest amount of dry mixture.

5Mix well and pour into a greased 9 x 13-inch pan.

6Break Heath bars using a hammer.

7Stir into 1/2 cup dry mixture.

8Sprinkle over batter. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes.

9Freezes well.
