  • 2 c. brown sugar
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1/2 c. margarine
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 c. sour milk
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

    Stir sugar into flour and mix with pastry blender. Cut in margarine until fine. Measure out 1 cup and set aside. To rest of mixture, add egg, milk, soda, salt and vanilla. Beat well. Pour into greased 9 x 13 pan. Spread with topping. Break 6 toffee candy with hammer. Mix candy with 1 cup chopped nuts and reserved mixture. Bake at 350° for 30 to 35 minutes.
